Ingredients for 6 servings:
– 4x 160gr of “chicken pieces” or other vegan meat. In this case I used “kippenstukjes” van de Vegetarische Slager. It doesn’t taste like chicken once you’re finished, I swear.
– 3 onions
– 3 carrots
– 2 dark beers
– 3 laurel leaves
– 1tbs of thyme
– a slice of bread
– mustard
– 2tbs of flower
Preparation:
1. Bake the “chicken pieces” in a pan with some margarine and add some flour to them. Bake until colored.
2. Bake the onions and carrots in a different pot for about 10 minutes.
3. Add the “chicken” to the onions and carrots and add the 2 bottles of dark beer.
4. As soon as it starts boiling, add the thyme, laurel leaves and the bread (covered in mustard on 1 side).
5. Add pepper and salt according to your taste.
6. Leave on a low fire for about 1 hour.
SERVING TIP: ideally served with french fries, mashed potatoes or potato croquettes. CHEERS!
