Making the decision to travel is the easy part. Deciding where to go is something completely different.
Somewhere warm, my first thought. I just love heat! The higher the temperature, the better my mood. Also much easier to pack since you only need to pack a jacket and a sweater next to your dresses, skirts and Daisy Dukes. Trying to avoid anything cold and wet excludes a lot of places already.
Not too expensive, my second thought. Even though I would love to spend all my savings on my trip, it is always nice to know that you have a safety net. Something to rely on when I get back home and that helps me get started. That rules out a bunch of other places as well.
Keep in mind that your time frame is also an important part of the decision-making process. Don’t try to fit too many activities or countries within a short time frame or don’t fly off to the other side of the world for a two-week holiday. Try to find balance between the available time frame and your activities.
Last, where have I always wanted to go?
There is not much use to following your dreams if you aren’t visiting the countries you have always dreamt of. Think of the places you have always wanted to visit and add them to the list.
Based upon the criteria above, I came down to the list below. I will be visiting these countries from August 2019 until April 2020, spending approximately 1 month in each destination.
1 Malaysia
2 Indonesia
3 Australia
4 New Sealand
5 Fiji
6 Thailand
7 Laos
8 Cambodia
9 Vietnam
I would love to take you with me on this amazing and adventurous journey.
Love,
Liv
